The nutritional composition of squid varies somewhat by species, but in general they are low in fat and high in protein. A 3.5 ounce (100 gram) serving of cooked squid contains around 26 grams of protein, which is over 50% of the recommended daily intake. Squid are also a good source of essential vitamins and minerals including vitamin B12, phosphorus, copper, and selenium.
